Superintendent/President Southwestern College
As CEO of Southwestern College, Dr. Kindred Murillo has worked on increasing student success, building strong leaders, and creating a culture of equity, diversity and inclusivity for all members of the college community. She has more than 20 years of educational and leadership experience in the California Community College system. She most recently served as superintendent/president of Lake Tahoe Community College for five years, as vice chancellor of administrative services for the Contra Costa Community District, and as vice president of administrative services at Pasadena City College. Dr. Murillo earned an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Barstow Community College, a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration from the University of Redlands, and doctorate and master’s degrees in organizational leadership and organizational development from Pepperdine University. Soroptimist International of Coronado is proud to recognize Dr. Murillo’s contributions to improving the lives of others through education.
