Two things Soroptimist know they can count on are Coronado’s beautiful beaches and Maureen, (Mo), Goetschius’s showing up. Rain or shine, Mo arrives well before the early 7:30 AM start time to ensure the proper arrangement of tables and chairs and set up the coffee bar for morning treats. If Soroptimist had kept attendance records, Mo would win the grand prize! Her dedication to Soroptimist and its mission, to improve the lives of women and girls, is as strong today as it was when she became a member 32 years ago.
Mo’s current pet project is collecting teddy bears for Rady Children’s Hospital. She starts well before the Christmas season deadline, and always makes Soroptimist International of Coronado one of the top donors to this worthy endeavor.
Mo attributes her superb organizational skills to her years of managing both a business and raising four children. She credits her busy family life, including four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and helping husband, “Gooch”, stay fit and healthy, for keeping her life on a steady course.
