Mary Ann Kelly, a working professional in real estate, has been a member of SI Coronado since 2005. Mary Ann did not test the waters by wading into club service, she dove in immediately! She is responsible for our trademark Legend Luncheon silent auction that is the backbone of our club fundraising. In the beginning, she developed its framework from solicitation letters, to bid sheets, to cataloguing, to thank you letters, and to displays. Over the last six years, she has tweaked it almost to perfection.

In addition and probably, Mary Ann’s personal favorite service to the club has been as chair of the Violet Richardson Award. This award recognizes a high school girl who has performed exceptional volunteer service. Mary Ann has a keen eye for young women who have involved volunteers and has brought our Club exceptional young women who exemplify the spirit of the award.

SI Coronado continues to be a dynamic club that builds bridges of opportunity for women and girls because of the efforts and involvement of Mary Ann Kelly. She truly represents “women at their best-helping women to be their best.” SI Coronado is proud to recognize Mary Ann as our 2011 Soroptimist of the Year! Look for her in the Coronado 4th of July parade. She will be the one with the brightest and biggest smile!
