One might have assumed that when Penny’s term as SI Coronado President was up and she retired from her thirty plus year career as an actor and model, that she could be found peacefully working in her garden, throwing birthday parties for grandchildren, and traveling the world with her husband Steve.

However, what Penny does in such an easy, behind-the-scenes way might not be noticed. She is front and center in every single fundraising effort Soroptimist is involved in…a true “team player” who never fails to share the glory with her co-workers. Individually over the years, she has organized and run our annual See’s Candy drive, NFL Monday Night Football pool, and Opportunity Drawing for our annual Spring Luncheon. The time, talent, and dedication of each of these endeavors when taken alone is staggering, but to have tackled them all this year is nothing short of astonishing. Something only a Soroptimist of the Year could accomplish.
