Terry Player, a law professor at the University of San Diego, has been a very active member of Soroptimist International of Coronado since 1994. Terry held the office of President for two years, was a delegate for several years, and recording secretary for two years. Terry was also the queen of See’s candy fundraising for our club for many years…taking over from Marian Poynter.

Come time for our Christmas celebration lunch, Terry would open up her home to all of us with a catered lunch and fun time exchanging “white elephant” gifts. In her spare time, she enjoys being part of a Coronado book club with other attorneys in the area who all share a passion for serving the people.

Terry is extremely humble and has a quiet demeanor. She is the epitome of “talk less, listen more”. She has given generously to many causes and helped many lives. A paint-stained T-shirt in her collection commemorates time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. She also traveled to Tanzania to contribute to developing the Olmoti Clinic for women.

Terry’s quirky sense of humor is subtle but right on point and her jokes are timed perfectly.  As a young girl, she had aspirations of becoming a comedian so who knows—-perhaps we will see her at a local comedy club during open mike sessions! She is an amazing, nonjudgmental listener and will make time for people, even those pesky marketing solicitors on the phone!

She delights in regular exercise and keeps very fit with soccer, yoga, jazzercise, and water aerobics. If you see her walking or riding her bike around Coronado, feel free to wave hello!
Congratulations Terry on a well-deserved recognition!
