Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA)

Soroptimist of Coronado awards one scholarship to a graduating senior girl who will be continuing her education has a 3.0 or better GPA, and has distinguished herself in CoSA through her commitment, performance, and service.

Live Your Dream Award
The Live Your Dream Award is Soroptimist’s major project.  Through the program, clubs in 19 countries and territories assist women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects.  Many recipients have overcome enormous obstacles including poverty, domestic violence, and drug and alcohol abuse.

Carol Raiter Memorial Scholarship Award

Scholarship monies are donated in Carol Raiter’s memory by her husband Eric. Carol was a long-time Soroptimist member, Community icon, 2008 Soroptimist of the Year, past Legends Luncheon Chair and Soroptimist of Coronado 2015 Legend.

Each year the Carol Raiter Memorial Senior Award provides a scholarship to a  senior woman at Coronado High School that demonstrates financial need.

Jane Granzer Senior Award
Provides a scholarship for a senior girl at Coronado High School each year.  Jane Granzer made a major contribution to Soroptimist International of Coronado helping to build the Club and serving it in every capacity since joining in 1956.  She held the position of Club President, was honored as Club Soroptimist of the Year in 2002, and inducted into the Laurel Society…

Southwestern College Women’s Resource Center “Living Your Dream” Scholarship
Soroptimist International of Coronado is excited to announce a scholarship for $1,000 for tuition and books to a student attending Southwestern College.  The scholarship will be for a female head of household, with a grade point average of 2.5 or better who is taking a minimum of 12 units…

Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps
This scholarship was established in 2014 to recognize the qualities of service, leadership, citizenship and sense of personal responsibility in young women in the Coronado NJROTC program. It is awarded to an outstanding Senior female cadet of the Coronado High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program nominated by the NJROTC staff, led by the Senior Naval Science Instructor. It is a cash award, in an amount determined by the club on an annual basis….
