Soroptimist International of Coronado is Building Bridges of Opportunity for Women and Girls
Founded in 1921, Soroptimist International is a global women’s organization whose 160,000 members volunteer to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Soroptimist International of Coronado (SIC) is one of 120 Soroptimist clubs located in 5 regions around the world. Issues that directly affect women are of the utmost importance to Soroptimists. Two areas where Soroptimists strive to make a difference in women’s lives are awareness and eradication of domestic violence and human trafficking and improved access to education and health care.
Soroptimist serves as a global voice for women to provide outstanding leadership development opportunities. Through the support of many worthy nonprofit organizations locally and worldwide, SI Coronado helps women achieve economic and political equality. The organizations we support include orphanages, safe shelters for the homeless and victims of abuse, educational, sports and arts facilities and programs, libraries, programs to support the disabled, and programs to support women in the military. We hope you will take a moment to review our current projects and find the ones that speak to your heart. We invite you to join with us to help those who most need our help. “Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day,” Sally Koch.
